“Our constitution is to be celebrated not for being old, but for being young”. that was a quote said by Ronald Regan on January 12, 1987 this was said in front of a joint sessions of the congress reporting on the state of the union. This was also the 200th anniversary of the constitution. Ronald Regan was the 40th president of the United States he served in office for 2 terms.

This quote was also said on the 25th anniversary of the challenger explosion. This quote has many different meanings it depends of your perspective. For me it means that we don’t celebrate our constitution for how old it is or how long it has been around but we recognize it for being young and being with us for such a long time. That is what this quote by Ronald Regan means to me.

The quote "Our Constitution is to be celebrated not for being old, but for being young." Ronald Reagan 1986 means to me that we have peace and we will always have peace. On January 20,1981 Reagan took office. Only 69 days later he was shot by a would-be assassin, but quickly recovered and returned to duty.

In 1986 Reagan sought to achieve “Peace through strength” said during his two term he increased defense spend 35%. Over all, the Reagan years saw a restoration of prosperity, and the goal of peace through the strengths seemed to be within grasp. In 1968 Reagan obtained an overhaul of the income tax code. This quote is important because it tells you to always stay positive and that we will always be free.

When Our Constitution was written, it was to last for ages to come. So far it has. Yet it was written over two hundred years ago. So what did president Reagan mean by "Our Constitution is to be celebrated not for being old, but for being young?" I believe I know. Many people look at the age of the constitution as when it was written or how old the material is. What Pres. Reagen meant was the constitution is celebrated for it's values that will remain forever young, and will hopefully last until the end of time.

“Our Constitution is to be celebrated not for being old, but for being young” Ronald Reegan 1986. These word were spoken to remind us how the Constitution is not old, but it is young. The Constitution was finished in 1787, that would make it.....(2012-1787, ummmmm,) 316 years ago. Don’t mark something for being old, only for being young.

"Our constitution is to be celebrated not fo being old but for being young" Ronald Reagan. I think this quote means freedom never gets old. Freedom is always cherished. Some people will die for freedom and some won't. Freedom doesn't get old unless you don't have it. Freedom stays young forever because old things leave and freedom doesn't, it is always there.

Ronald Reagan was the 33rd Governor of California from 1967 to 1975. He was also the President of the United States from 1981 to 1989. Reagan wrote this quote when he was in office. President Reagan said this quote in his State of the Union message delivered to the Congress in Washington. He wrote this letter to congratulate all the members of the historic 100th Congress of the United States of America.

Just because something is physically old does not mean it has lost any meaning. This describes the Constitution. The Constitution was the first set of “rules” for America. The Constitution was written in 1787. Even though it is so many years old it still means and represent the same thing. When it was first written it was to show America’s freedom and now so many years later it still is a symbol of America’s freedom.

Ronald Reagan was getting at the same thing when he said,”Our Constitution is to be celebrated not for being old, but for being young." Ronald Reagan was one of the U.S presidents. Ronald served 2 terms which is 8 years. In this quote when he says “young” this means,”with the same energy, spirit and promise.”(www.reagon2020.us) The next time you look at something from Americas history or from your life don’t look down on it and think of it as unimportant just because it is old because it still holds the same meaning.

More than 20 years later, the Republican Party has changed its tune. President Obama's call for bipartisanship on the immigration issue was answered by Senate Republican Leader Mitch McConnell. A bipartisan effort would be possible, he said, if Obama "would take amnesty off the table and make a real commitment to border and interior security."

Our country is not known for being old, but for being young. Even though our country is younger than other countries in Europe, we rose our way to the top. And the same goes for the US constitution because it was young but it empowered so many people and lead a whole nation.
That is the lesson i learned from what Ronald Reagan was trying to say when he said the quote, "Our Constitution is to be celebrated not for being old, but for being young." Ronald Reagan was a president, and he was a every famous president. He said this quote in one of his speeches to describe how America was young yet it was still strong.

Ronald Regan once said. "Our Constitution is to be celebrated not for being old, but for being young." Ronald Regan was a 6'1 brown hair and blue eyes.Ronald Regan was the president from 1981-1989 that's two turns as the president. He destroyed his competition both times.
In many people eyes Ronald Regan was a tyrant president but there were few who thought he was a good president. In my opinion I think he was a get it done president. He was the president who didn't say things he did them.Did you know Ronald Regan was in a movie? The movie was called Love is on the radio and he played a radio announcer which was a good part in the movie. And that's what I learned about Ronald Regan

To some people something might be old while to others it might be young. Ronald Reagan was a very famous president. He was born in 1911 and lived to 2004. He lived a very long life and knew a lot about our country and how to run it. I would bet that he was a great man and a great president.
“Not for being old but for being young.” I think it means that the constitution might be old to us but it is probably one of the newest writings that state what is needed to run a country and how to keep the country in order. The constitution is celebrated on september 17th 2013. To me celebrating the men who created it and the writing itself should be celebrated. It is a good start to a good country.

He had two terms. On February 6, 1911, Ronald Wilson Reagan was born to Nelle and John Reagan in Tampico, Illinois. He attended high school in nearby Dixon and then worked his way through Eureka College.
From his first marriage to actress Jane Wyman, he had two children, Maureen and Michael. Maureen passed away in 2001. Reagan won 489 electoral votes to 49 for President Jimmy Carter which was a land slid and this was when he became the president again. On January 20, 1981, Reagan took office. Only 69 days later he was shot by a would-be assassin, but quickly recovered and returned to duty. His grace and wit during the dangerous incident caused his popularity to soar.

We are supposed to be celebrated for living young and living long. Our Constitution may be 100 years old but it is still young because it is gonna live a lot longer then that. Reagan wanted to try to persuay people that were not on his side. He tried to win people on his side even though he had a lot of people on his side.

Reagan was our 40th president. He beat Carter 489 to 49 for electoral votes. Only 69 days after that he got shot. By a assassin but he returned to office very quickly. He was also the oldest president.

Ronald Reagan was born Feb. 6, 1911. After being in school he played on a football team. After that he became a sports radio announcer. Many people said he was very good at it. People listened to him and eventually he appeared in 53 films.

I remembered what Constitution means! A Constitution is a written document that is signed by Presidents or the Senate in Government. In 1986, Ronald Regan and the Senate worked on the Constitution, which was a law written in 1986 as the Constitution for America, or CfA. Everyone has always remembered the year of 1986 and the Constitution.
What is the Constitution? The Constitution is a formal written document or law by the judges. I had always remembered about the Constitution. I had even remembered creating a document in Pages and OpenOffice. The CoA, or Constitution of America, was remembered in 1998. A celebration is a time for fun instead of work. I’ve even remembered celebrations.

Our Constitution may be old but still has a big meaning. Whether is old or young it still means a lot. Ronald Reagan said this quote in the State of the Union delivered on January 28,1987 in Washington by the New York Times. Before Ronald Reagan's Presidency, in 1966 he was elected for Governor of California. Ronald Reagan was in the military during WWII.

Our Constitution is to be celebrated not for being old, but for being young. What I think Ronald Reagan was trying to say was. Even though it was made over 200 years ago it still has a strong and important meaning and should be forever young. Our Constitution is the foundation of America and should never be forgotten about no matter what its age. Our country had amazing presidents long ago and they knew what they were talking about when they wrote the constitution. It should not be changed. Stay forever young.

If you are old you can live well you are young! This is out of the quote that Ronald reagan had said on January 12. 1987. “Our constitution is to be celebrated not for being old, but for being young.” February 6, 1911 Ronald Wilson Reagan was born in Tampico,Illinois. This was said in front of a joint sessions of the congress on the state of the union.Young with the same energy, spirt, and promise that filled each event each eventful day in Philadelphia’s State House.

Live in the moment. I think we should live like it is the last minute of our lives every day. Life would be so much more fun. When you look back on your life you should not regret anything you have done or not done. When you get old you have to know not to be the young person you were. You have to accept getting old cause if you don’t it could tear you apart forever. "Our Constitution is to be celebrated not for being old, but for being young." Ronald Reagan 1986. I think that he said this quote to get people to realize that if you don't make every second count in your lifetime your going to regret some stuff.
Ronald Reagan did a lot of things for us. He was born on February 6th 1911 and died on June 5th 2004. He was the 40th president of the United states. I think people have to realize when there getting old because they cant do some of the stuff you used to be able to do.

"Our Constitution is to be celebrated not for being old, but for being young." What i think Ronald Reagan meant was it might be old, but our Constitution has not lost any value. We still live by the same rules, and for that the Constitution is cherished. We may have more modern, advanced, and more efficient ways now mostly in America, but the rules of America have never changed, and never will. The congress may be able to apply and repeal laws, but they cannot change our history. What i think this quote may also mean is, no matter how old the constitution gets, it becomes young again to the kids like us just now learning about it, understanding it, and obeying it. Because, we are Americans, and no one can change it.

we the people treat the declaration like it is a old artifact. But really it is as old as we are. It lives in us it is a part of us. In this quote I personally think he was trying to get people think of what they had to do to earn what they have and appreciate that. Also that it just happened so its not old but young. Another thing is that he wants them to fight for what they have and make sure they keep there freedom.
I think this was a short quick quote with a lot of different perspective and many ways to look at it negatively and positively. I think that is was meant to be positive and thats how I personally think about it.

Our constitution is new to people. What I mean by this is that our constitution was stuck without freedom for many years. Then, the spectacular patriots came marching in and earned our freedom back. So, what Ronald Reagan is trying to say is that they suffered with out freedom for many years.and we have freedom for less time. So lets celebrate it. I also think he wants us to respect it. He doesn't want us to say “Oh, its just another day” on independents day. He wants us to celebrate it like it was just yesterday that we earned this freedom. Respect it.

Our Constitution will never die. The words written by the founding fathers on that scroll will always hold true to America. We fought a war so we were able to have the constitution, and we won. It’s not going anywhere, that’s the point of President Ronald Reagan’s quote from the 200th Anniversary of the Constitution. “Our Constitution is to be celebrated not for being old, but for being young.” ~ Ronald Reagan, 1986.
President Reagan believed the Constitution we fought so long and hard to get, will always represent American freedom. Don’t take what President Reagan said literally. By “young” he doesn’t mean by age, he means it’s energy and truth. The Constitution may get old in age but not in it’s truth. It will always be true and in that state, it can’t die.

Your never too young to make a difference. I think this is a big problem with our generation. We all want to make an impact on the world, but most of us let our ideas ripen and spoil because you think you don’t matter enough. You just have to keep trying and never give up. Just like Ronald Reagan. Even though he was older he still put his ideas out there and took risk. That is a very brave thing to do. The world is not a afraid to judge and you have to be open to criticism, but you also can’t let it get to you.
Ronald Reagan is a perfect example. He was born Feb. 6th 1911 in Tampico Illinois. He attended Eureka Collage and earned his Bachelors degree in Arts and economics and sociology. After graduating he moved to Iowa and became a radio broadcaster. Then he slowly became involved in acting and moved to LA to fulfill his dream. He didn’t land many jobs in TV or movie, but he got offered to become a spokes person for General Electronics. Yet again he changed his mind and got interested in politics. Before he got into it he was a Democrat but then switched to Republican. Then he ran for governor of California. He was chosen and became the 33rd Governor of California. After that he decided to take a bigger leap and ran for president. He was elected and was the 40th president of the United States. This man has no fear!

“Our Constitution is to be celebrated not for being old, but for being young.” This is what Ronald Reagan said in 1986 during the time he served as president. This quote means that just because something is old doesn’t mean it’s bad. The constitution means a lot to America even though its been around for a very long time. Freedom is something that we worked for and some people risk their lives for it and some don’t but respect the ones who do.
We must respect our history. Just think of what could happen if all the wars had not happened? Or the Declaration of Independence had never been signed? We might still be under Britain's control! So America needs to respect what has happened to us and respect our Constitution. And thats exactly what Ronald Reagan meant by this.

The constitution’s ideals are young and unmovable in any generation, no matter how long. I think that Ronald Regan would agree with this thought, he said"Our Constitution is to be celebrated not for being old, but for being young." Ronald Reagan 1986. Ronald Regan was the 40th of the unitized States(Whitehouse.Gov.) Even though his words were so true he was shot 69 days after he took office. The constitution is a good and true thing that everyone in america takes advantage of.
After all the constitution starts with “we the people.” That shows it has the people intentions not just some power hungry person. The first draft of the declaration of independence is like the constitution it wants the people to have their own rights. Even though Ronald Regan started as an actor he knows how important the ideas of the constitution is. It’s not about the way you live later, it’s all about the way you live in the moment. Don’t wait until later to live. You only have one life to live so live it! "Our Constitution is to be celebrated not for being old, but for being young." Ronald Reagan 1986. This was said before a Joint Session of Congress on the State of the Union. I believe it was the Sixth State of the Union address. Reagan was saying to celebrate our Constitution now and forever not just later.

The year before in 1985 Gallup polls show Reagan’s approval rating was 62%. Early in January of 1986 Reagan undergoes surgery. He then in July signed an anti-terrorism law that bans arms sales to nations that support terrorism.

The words written in the constitution will be there forever, for us to be guided by. The great words of the founding fathers written all in one document. Ronald Reagan who was the 40th president once said in 1986 “ Our constitution is not to be celebrated for being old, but for being young.” From that quote I think it means that the document isn’t celebrated and a big deal only because its a very old document or a piece of history. The document should be celebrated because it’s words still move us and we still run by them today, It’s a document that keeps are country together still. This quote was spoke on the 200th anniversary of the constitution which just shows that what is written in that document means a lot to our country.

Ronald Reagan said many other things on that day as well. “We will be guided tonight by their acts; and will be guided forever by their words.” (reagan2020.us)When he said that he must have meant we will be guided now by the acts that the Americans had made then and guided forever by the words they said and wrote. He had also said “In this 200th anniversary year of our constitution, You and I stand on the shoulders of the giants- men whose words and deeds put wind in the sails of freedom.” When Ronald said that he must of meant in this anniversary of the constitution we are guided by those who wrote it, and the words and actions that these men took to help our country be free. The constitution was very meaningful and it is still what we run by today, Something that was made hundreds of years ago still guides our country. So by that it is truly celebrated not for being old, but for being young.

Freedom is a fragile thing and is never more than one generation away from extinction! We should alway appreciate it no matter what age we are. Ronald Reagan once said “Our constitution is not to be celebrated not for being old, but for being young.” What does he mean by this? What he means is no matter what age you are you should always celebrate for being free right this second! Also I believe that he put this on the table like this to show that we did not have to do anything for being free right now. We were born and it was handed to us like on a silver platter. We did not have to work for it, the people who did work for it were the soldiers who gave their lives in the revolutionary war!
And for the men who created the constitution should be proud of themselves to, they crated America. It was a long time ago but we should still be celebrating it like it was yesterday! We should also be thankful we had barley lifted a finger to be free. Yes we keep it up, and we have kept it up this whole time. But if it was not for them who did that for us we would have nothing to keep up or to live up to! So we should be celebrating this for the rest America’s time and no matter what age it is, or what age we are!

Even though something is old doesn’t mean that we shouldn’t celebrate it especially if it made are country free and even if it is old we should act like it is young.“ Our constitution is to be celebrated not for being old, but for being young” this quote was said by Ronald Reagan 1986. Ronald Reagan was born in Tampico, Illinois he was also the United States 40th president, he won the nomination in 1980. Reagan was not only the president of the united states he was the governor of California he was also the president of the screen actors guild.
The quote that Ronald Reagan said I think means that we should celebrate things that are important to us and being celebrated like the event just happened yesterday. Even though something is old doesn’t mean we shouldn’t celebrate it.

"Our Constitution is to be celebrated not for being old, but for being young." Ronald Reagan 1986. When I herd this quote by our fortieth president I thought that it meant that life was Precious. I thought it meant we need to celebrate life forever. But then I realized that it was meant to celebrate the constitution not life. But life is still to be celebrated.

When you think about it this was said by a fighter because he was shot, was an actor, and the oldest president ever! I think that this quote was honored in some ways. The constitution is very well protected and well maintained. There are even people who wait there whole life just to keep it safe. Well It is in good hands.

“Our constitution is to be celebrated not for it being old, but for being young” Ronald Reagan. This means that freedom never gets old. We all cherish it till the day we die. Freedom is what we live for. The constitution was our nation’s first set of “rules”. Some people believe in freedom others don’t. I you do not believe it will grow old with you, but not for anyone else.
Ronald Regan was our nation’s 40th president, and California’s 33rd governor. Ronald has served our country by being our leader. He was an actor, and then he was a politician. No one believes that freedom can be taken away like the snap of our fingers. At any moment the president can take it all away, but not all of it. There is one part of freedom that no one can take from that is freedom of religion and what you believe in.

We should be celebrated! Our country is young let's keep it that way. I think Ronald Reagan was telling us that the Constitution made our country younger so we should celebrate. I agree because we are a young country and some celebration is good to have to keep us happy. Unless you don't like to celebrate. I think he accomplished something and when you accomplish something you want to celebrate and be happy. Ronald Reagan was the 40th president. He served 8 years as president which means he was a good leader for this country. Just because the United States is physically old doesn't mean that it is not young on the inside. At heart the United States is young and should be celebrated!

"Our Constitution is to be celebrated not for being old, but for being young." Ronald Regan said this when he was in office. We need to forget our past when looking to our future. When Ronald Reagan our 40th President of the United States said, “Our Constitution is to be celebrated not for being old, but for being young,” I believe he wanted us to remember back 200 years ago. He said this when he was giving The State of The Union speech to congress in 1987.
I believe President Reagan wanted us to remember how all the delegates must have felt when they arrived at the convention in 1787. The energy, spirit and promise of the future filled each day. Ronald Reagan wanted our congress to get inspired and excited about our countries future the same way the delegates did 200 years ago.
He believed in what the constitution stood for and believed it meant the same in 1987 as it did in 1787. Things change, but sometimes beliefs from our past help to shape our future. Just because the constitution is old, it does not mean what is in the constitution is to old to follow.

The Constitution is a living document, the people that put there ideas and what the think should be a law and if they like it, it becomes part of the Constitution. Ronald Reagan said, “Our Constitution is to celebrated not for being old, but for being young.” He said this in the State of the Union message. It could mean that the Constitution is still young because it is always being changed. Ronald Reagan was our 40th president and served two terms. There are 27 amendments to the Constitution.
The constitution is always changing. There are 27 amendments. An amendment is another law that is added to the Constitution, one is slavery abolished. What President Reagan was trying to say is the Constitution is a living breathing document. It is still young because there will always be changes.

Some things never get old- they stay young in spirit. “Our Constitution is to be celebrated not for being old, but for being young,” said Ronald Reagan in his Sixth State of the Union Address in 1987. Ronald Reagan was the 40th president of the United States. He took office on January 20th, 1981. He was elected for two terms. Prior to being the President of the United States, Reagan was the 33rd governor of California, along with being a film, radio, and television actor. This quote was said in the Sixth State of the Union Address, which just so happened to be on the 200th anniversary of the Constitution. Now down to the meaning of this quote.
Some things never get old, but stay young in spirit. The Constitution of the United States is old- but we still follow the rules that it says. The Constitution is still young with spirit and energy. It inspires all Americans to be patriotic. Some things never get old- they stay young in spirit.

Freedom never gets old. People that fought for our right to be free, eventually got old, but our constitution didn't. Ronald Reagan wrote a quote that says, "Our Constitution is to be celebrated not for being old, but for being young." I think this mens that no matter what, our freedom, and our rights will never get old. They will never fade.
Ronald was the 40th president of the United Stated of America. Websites stated that he was a loyal man. Ronald was a republican. I don't know what that means, but I know it's one of the two things you can vote for when you vote for president. Most people think that things will get old. Yes, they can, physically, but not always mentally.

The constitution is old but we still follow it’s rules and will for a lot longer time. The message Ronald Regan is trying to get across is he is old but he is still president. So he is saying it does not matter how old you are you can still do anything you want. Still shot for your goals. Don’t let people tell you you can’t do something. Ronald Regan I’m sure was told that a lot being the oldest President.
The were people that did not like Ronald Regan that is for sure sense he was shot in an assassination attempt. This probably made him think that he is a bad president. But he went on to serve a second term and he died at 93 years old. He died in 2004 15 years after his service as president. He lived a long time for any one and this shows that he is a strong man physically and mentaly.

Bring young is good thing. Because when you are young
I can do more stuff. Like you have for energy
you do not get as tired when doing stuff.
You do not need help to do every thing.
So you should make your young ages
worth the fullest because when you are older
you can not do as much.
But when you are old you can not
do as much stuff as a young person and the way
you look you start to get small it makes it
harder to do stuff around the house. And
you are going to need help do a lot more stuff
in your older age. So when you are older
you should try to get some more exercise in once a day.

The promise that the constitution entails should live on forever. Ronald Regan’s quote "Our Constitution is to be celebrated not for being old, but for being young,” has a very powerful meaning if you look closely at it. I think what he is trying to say is that, the promise that the American people made over 200 years ago is something that should never get old. Freedom should always be just as important to us as it was to them back them. The promise that they made should live on forever.
Ronald Regan was President for 8 years. He spoke this quote in his sixth State of the Union Speech that he delivered to Congress in 1988. I hope that his beliefs live on in Americans forever. He had a truly great outlook on freedom. Always keep your promises.

We act like the constitution is the oldest thing on the planet. But just because it is old does not mean the rules are still in action. We still have those rules. just because we don't have the people who created it on our earth anymore doesn't mean we can ignore it we still have to fallow all those rules. We may not like it but we still have to put its rules in action this is true in life to sometimes we ignore what has to be done just because we don't want to do it.

Our Constitution still has it’s same spirit. During the State of the Union in 1987, on the 200th year anniversary of our Constitution being signed, Ronald Reagan said “Our Constitution is to be celebrated not for being old, but for being young.” The message that Reagan sent by saying this is that our constitution has lasted us this long with peace throughout the nation that we should be celebrating it! Although change is a good thing, if something has lasted for 200 years peacefully, we shouldn’t re-create anything! Every amendment that we have made to our Constitution has been for the betterment of America, and every amendment that will ever be made will be for the betterment of America. So, if we have ways of altering something, it is like making it new again. For example: Patching a hole in a pair of jeans is like making them new again. Every time we make an amendment, and every day of our lives, we should be celebrating the Constitution not for being old, but for being young.
Ronald Reagan was born in 1911. “He was born Feb. 6, 1911 in Tampico, Illinois”- www.history1900s.about.com Ronald Reagan was elected president in 1981, and served for two terms. Reagan was not any regular President either. When he was elected in 1981, he was 69 years old. This created a new record that is still present today. In 1987, Ronald Reagan was President of the United States. 1987 was the 200th anniversary of the signing of the Constitution, and Ronald Reagan was able to speak at the State of the Union, where he made many noteworthy statements. Overall, Ronald Reagan was a vey wise man, and we should still follow the little pieces of advice that he left us.

Another way to think of Reagan quote “Our constitution is to celebrated not for being old, but for being young.” Is to think of a new born baby, he is celebrated for being born and young, but as we go on we begin to celebrate becoming old, but at a certain point in life we begin to not like aging so we don't celebrate as often. Old memories stay young forever. Always remember the greatest moments of your life. Even if you feel old remembering it, you shouldn’t. Bringing back memories makes you feel younger, and it should make you happier. I agree that you shouldn’t live from the past, but it is great to remember amazing things you have done in the past. It is even greater to do more amazing stuff in the future. That is what I though Ronald Reagan was trying to explain.

“Our Constitution is to be celebrated not for being old, but for being young.” Ronald Reagan 1986. Ronald Reagan said this during the State of the Union. He was talking to the Congress. He was trying to explain that we should always remember the extraordinary things that is a part of the Constitution, and live through it throughout the future. He wanted to always remember the good things from the past. He didn’t want the older things to be forgotten.

Ronald Reagan was one of the most amazing men the country has ever seen. He was a radio, film and television actor. After that, he started to become a politician. He was the 33rd Governor of California (1967-1975). Then, he became the 40th president of the United States in 1980. Five years after his presidency, he was diagnosed with Alzheimer's. Most of his words that he says I don’t know but these ones I do. He is implying that the constitution is young in the fact that it did come along time ago. People age but rights do not.
The rights have been there since native americans being free from no rule. The constitution ages backward. It gets younger the longer it exists. The paper on the other hand ages like humans and it will disintegrate. But even when it does our rights will continue to be with the hearts of every american.

This happened to be the 200th anniversary of the Constitution, also the 25th anniversary of the explosion of the Challenger. People sometimes forget the real meaning of the Constitution. They just now assume that we celebrate things because they are old. Age shouldn’t determine the importance of something. The Constitution is much more than people remember it as. We need to remind ourselves once in a while the true meaning. The document itself may be aging physically, but the ideas it contains isn’t. The importance that it contains will never die. The significance comes from the writing, the words, not the physical appearance.

I agree with Ronald Reagan our constitution is very important to our history and it shouldn’t just be celebrated once a year it should be celebrated every day. If we didn’t have our constitution maybe we wouldn’t be where we are today in technology or education and we would all be talking in British accents and maybe there would be 2 parliaments one here with a king and a Queen here and one there in Britain.

So I agree with Ronald Reagan Our Constitution should be celebrated everyday because other countries are in a war for there freedom. I think we should be responsible with it though. Not like some people who g around ruining it for themselves a sometimes others. Its not fair They need to think about what they do before they do it.they teach us this in Kindergarten so they should already know this!!!! We should celebrate the Constitution every single day of our life! I never realized this until I read this quote. Being able to celebrate the Constitution is a very special thing. Many countries are not as lucky as us and don’t have all the privileges as we do in our fine country! AS my dad tells me, “You should be so grateful for what you have, I doubt there is anything that SUCKS about it!”. This just clicked in and I think I will be doing a little more thinking about what I say.
The reason I believe that everyone should celebrate this special document, is so that we all start thinking about how lucky out country is! I don’t think anyone else besides immigrants think about how lucky they are for were they live. The reason I say this is because immigrants that came from another country may have bad memories about their past country and thats why they came to America. When people talk about being young, it isn't always age. Sometimes its character. Sometimes it 'young at heart'. When Ronald Reagen said this it he ment one thing. Young in opportunities.
Our country is young in opportunities because we are the only free part of the world. We choose our president. We get a say in our laws. We are a free country & many people thirst for that. Thats what I think Mr.Reagen ment in this quote.

And they also had trouble on getting certain people to sign it because they did not agree to it so they had to change it a couple times. Our country is celebrated for being young. Why would you change that. Although change is a good thing, if something has lasted for 200 years why not keep it. Ronald Reagan was the one that wrote the quote. Also he was the 33rd governor of California and then won the presidential election and was the 40th president of the United States. What Reagan was trying to say is the Constitution is a document. It is still young because we will always live by it.

Our constitution is to be celebrated for not being old but being young.ronald was president so he knew a lot of things about like this and new the the true meaning of it.When Ronald was saying this I think he was trying to say that people celebrate thing for being old and being there for a long time not for whats int the actual meaning of it.The constituton is old but it has a lot of menaing and hard work into it and should be celebrated for what its and how long its been in the world for. When he said “Not for being old but being young he was saying that its being young because people shouldn't forget about this important piece of paper its being young also because people should still refresh on it and still talk about and learn more about it today. What if ronald never said this quote would people still celebrate constitution day just like they celebrate any other holiday just because somethings old doesnt mean you have to stop celebrating it and learn more about it.

our constitution is old, yes but the idea behind it is new! The idea of all these right that we have is new like "you are innocent until proven guilty" its not like that everywhere. We are the only country with this many rights.

The piece of parchment itself is old. but the idea is so new. for thousands of years man has been ruled unfairly and the normal people have been treated like dirt. But not until recently have everyone been tarted equally.Like freedom of speech my word is us as important as the presidents. The idea of equity, is terry new and compared to the rest of the ways we were ruled, it will allays be new, and we should celebrate that

"Our Constitution is to be celebrated not for being old, but for being young." Ronald Reagan 1986 What he was saying about this was that the constitution will always be young at heart and stay true to what its is, and it should be celebrated for the main gift of our freedom. It being New means that its still in power, which it still is now. When Its older that means it has had time to change, Ronald Reagan likes how it is. It also means that we are still under the constitutions law. Liberty, Freedom, and a Right To Choose Will never get old.

Our constitution my be old but every time you read it has a new meaning. Like it may at first say that this is a new start. Then you read it again and it is what we stand for. Read it one more time and it is the past that we need to go back too.
It could also be saying that we need to go back to it and try to make us a better country and only use the things from our constitution. Like we should stop doing everything that is not in our constitution. Also we should defend it and not try to change it.

The constitution may have been with us for over 300 years, but it is still young. The constitution will always be young. Every day, while all of the candidates are trying to make the U.S. a better place, the basic rules will never change. The constitution has never lost its value. Its purpose was the exact same as it was over 300 years ago; to give us law and order. As we get older, we change drastically in personality, look, and knowledge. But look at the constitution. It really hasn't changed much. So the government is still very young, and will likely stay like that for a long, long time, probably forever.

Our constitution is old, but really, it’s young. How could that be? It’s 225 years old. That’s really old. Yet it’s young, because it will last so much longer. “Our constitution is to be celebrated not for being old, but for being young.” Ronald Reagan 1986. I believe that’s true, it may be old, but what if it stays around for thousands of years? Right now it’s only 225 years old.
The constitution states all of our governments rules, how our government is to function. Like, how much power the legislative group receives. Ronald Reagan in saying that we hope our government will stay the same way for a long time, but I don’t think it will. The constitution will last forever, but not what it says. So many things have changed in America since the beginning. For example, there is no more slavery. I may be wrong, but I believe that America still has many struggles and obstacles to face, and it will change, in a good way.

The Great Communicator Ronald Reagan. Ronald Reagan was the 40th president who served from 1981 to 1989. After 69 days of being elected he was shot. Ronald Reagan was a great president lowering taxes for businesses and bringing employment to America. Ronald Reagan earned the title of the “Great Communicator” because of his skill at talking evocatively and using old folk anecdotes that ordinary people could understand. He was also very optimistic always speaking of the future.

I believe what Roland Reagan was saying is that just because something is old and that it was written in 1787 doesn’t mean that it isn’t mean’t for today. That it still holds true of America and what America stands for. That are value should still stay the same way according to the document. The words are still to hold true. That there is a strong meaning behind that document which represents our constitution.

We were very lucky, and still are we gained our freedom from the british. Because I feel like if we didn’t get it then, we wouldn’t have it now. We have to keep earning our freedom, though. “Our constitution is not for being old, but for being young.” That Quote was said by ronald Reagan in 1986 during his presidency.
Everyone should be celebrated for being young.

The constitution’s ideals are young and unmovable in any generation, no matter how long. I think that Ronald Regan would agree with this thought, he said"Our Constitution is to be celebrated not for being old, but for being young." Ronald Reagan 1986.
Whats new to you? Whats old to you? Whats unique to you? Whats new to me are the “in style things” or known as materialistic things. Also things that are modern not “old fashion”. Whats old to me are the things my mom or dad had when they were young. Whats unique to me are the things that I don’t see often and that are different, this may be like clothes or a pink car. Our constitution are all these things, its unique, its old, and its new. Those words he said were "Our Constitution is to be celebrated not for being old, but for being young." Most people think they know what this means but do they?

Ronald Reagan was one of our most remembered presidents because of all of the things he went through and how he handled it. In these words he has said right in saying that what I take it as the constitution is something that will never grow old. The constitution is one of the most important things when it comes to america and american history but it doesn’t even have to go in a subject it IS the most important thing it goes right up there next to the declaration of independence. The constitution is the building blocks of history its what started it all, the gasoline to the fire that will burn throughout history.
The quote made by Ronald Reagan, he took office in 1981 and would change the course of history by solving some of the hardest problems. He would serve for 2 terms and those 2 terms would prove to be quite prosperous.
