  1. Our world is held together by its people. Is this true? The quote by Thomas Jefferson means a lot to everybody and but has different meanings to all the people who read this quote. To me it means much more than just “America is united because every american's heart and blood is given to america at an given time. (www.Monticello.com Pg.2) Well this is true but if you pick apart this quote even more it makes you wonder if he was really referring to america's union being held together by american's and “how many they are ready to sacrifice there lives for there country.” (www.Monticello.com Pg.4)
As we don't know what time this quote was made it makes you wonder if he was referring to his family or his “union”, “when he lost his daughter”(www.Monticello.com Pg.3). It may be sad but it could be true, even the presidents have feelings and need there own union or family to give there heart and blood to in time of need. With that said there could be people out there who will read this quote and not realize what Thomas might have been going through. Just think about it Thomas Jefferson didn't just say stuff - he said stuff to make a point. Sometimes that point was hidden, and it was hidden for a reason. A reason that can be differed all around the world but sill will make a difference to everybody in there own special way.
As this quote has been hung in museums and talked about all around the world, it makes me wonder if he was also talking about the war. At this time the revolutionary war was going on. “He had people joining his army willing to give there heart and blood to there country.”(www.history.com Pg.1) As well as he owned slaves to work in his army. It kind of makes you wonder what he was thinking about when he said these words and what they really meant to him.

Americans stay together no matter how hard it is. This is what Thomas Jefferson was saying when he said “The cement of this union is in the heart blood of every American”. He wrote that quote just before the Revolutionary War. The British told the Americans that they were weak. So Thomas Jefferson responded to that by writing that quote.
The Americans weren’t weak though. The Americans were invincible by any force and they had a lot of strength and never stopped fighting until they won the war. The Americans never fought alone, they fought as a group and together. So that is why it means “Americans stay together no matter how hard it is”. Which is the translation of “The cement of this union is in the heart blood of every American.” written by Thomas Jefferson.

Every American’s heart is as tough as cement. This is the lesson learned from Thomas Jefferson’s quote. ”The cement of the union in the heart blood of every American.” Thomas Jefferson made this quote somewhere in the time of the Revolutionary war.
Thomas Jefferson was born April 13 1743, and died July 4 1816. What he meant about the quote is that each American has a brave heart to lead the county.

The life of the Union is in the Americans heart. Thomas Jefferson believed that America was smart and That the Unions faith was in Americans. Thomas Jefferson was critical to America he was the author of the Declaration of Independence and the 3rd president. When Thomas Jefferson was little he liked to play in the woods, and violin.

Thomas Jefferson was born on April 13, 1743 in Shadell, Virginia. Thomas Jefferson saw greatness in Americans. He also believed that the worlds heart was in Americans. That is who Thomas Jefferson was a person who believed in America and Americans.

    Cement and Blood

We all start the same. With a cement building block of hopes and dreams. We start with a clean slate and no record of anything bad or good. We choose who we want to be, just like Thomas Jefferson did. He choose to be the kind of person who works hard and in the corse of his life, he made history. He was born April 17th 1743. He was a Historian, Public officer, philosopher, and a plantation owner.
Mr. Jefferson owned 200 slaves. To me this doesn’t make sense because if he is the one who wrote the Declaration of INDEPENDENCE! If he was all about independence then why did he own slaves? Slaves aren’t free! Also he founded the University of Virginia, which was a private school. Thats not free ether. Everyone should be able to go to school. I’m sure he had the right intentions, it just makes you think about his reasoning.
On Thomas’s tombstone he asked for it to reflect on what he did for the people, not what the people had given to him. That was a very selfless act that I’m sure will always be remembered through the corse of History.

When one person stands up, then all will stand. We break down but it takes time. Thomas Jefferson made the statement of "The cement of this union is in the heart blood of every American.” No one knows what he meant. He sent that statement in a letter to his friend Lafayette Monticello on February 14, 1815. “The cement of this union” means to me we are strong. Mr. Jefferson was a very intelligent man.
“The heart blood of every American.” said by Thomas Jefferson. Do we share the same blood line? We are all related under god. You don’t have to believe it but I do. We all believe in a perfect plan of government. In this world there is no perfect government. Everyone and everything has it quarks.

Any American has the bravery to fight for our country."The cement of this union is in the heart blood of every American." Thomas Jefferson wrote this right before the revolutionary war started. I think the lesson learned is that the Americans should stick together no matter how hard it gets. Its kinda like what happened when we fought against the British.
The taxed so much that the Americans were tired of it so went in to a war and came out with a victory that no one thought could have happened. Thomas Jefferson was born on April 13, 1743. This quote was like a response kinda of to the British.

We are very important in this union. What this quote is saying is that us americans are the heart and soul of this union and without us there would be no union. I saw that this quote was in a book. I thought it must be important because it is a book. I also learned that Thomas Jefferson wrote the Declaration of Independence. I thought I would add this in because we should be independent sometimes and sometimes we need to work as a group. Then I realized we are never independent because we are working together as a group all the time.

Once an American, always an American. United we stand. America is a free country because of one war; The Revolutionary War. If those soldiers hadn’t fought in that war, if they had just scattered and left, we would not be free. We are connected to those brave people. How? We are Americans. Americans are all connected to each other. “The cement of this union is in the heart blood of every American.” ~Thomas Jefferson, Writings, 1815. Thomas Jefferson stated this quote at the tale end of this war.
This quote could have meant many things. It could have been encouraging soldiers and colonists not to give up, to keep trying. It could have been focused towards the British, saying, “We are one union. We are dedicated to defeating you for our future ancestors.” Or it could simply be saying that we are united. However you interpret it, Thomas Jefferson, The President of 1801, told us we are united. The heart of America, is inside of every American.

America has a heart of stone! Thomas Jefferson wrote this quote probably sometime during or after the Revolutionary war. This quote talks about how the union has faith in all americans. America is now a very strong nation. We have many allied countries.
Back then we were just becoming a country though. We were trying to break free from the clutches of the tyrant king in Britain. After we won the war and kicked the red coats out of boston and all the other settlements we became a proud country.

We were a country with earned liberty and lots of safety. But we only had safety for those who deserved it. America has a strong will. Or in other word a heart of stone. That is what Thomas Jefferson was probably kind of saying.

America is what it is today because of the strong people that believed in America. In this quote by Thomas Jefferson, what is he really saying? I believe he's trying to say America is what it is because of the people that made America happen. Thomas Jefferson was born on April 13, 1743. As a public official, historian, philosopher, and plantation owner Jefferson served his country for 5 decades.
Thomas Jefferson was not only are President he was a husband, a son and a father. He is the author of the Declaration of Independence. He's the Statue in Virgina for religious freedom. We are one of the very few countries that are free. Jefferson died July 4,1826. Which today is Independence Day. America is what it is because of its people.

Americans are together as one. Without the Revolutionary War, our country would not be the same as today. “The cement of this union is in the heart blood of every American” ~ Thomas Jefferson, writings, no date. No one is exactly sure when he wrote that quote, or why he wrote that quote. Even though no one knows why he wrote this, I think it is about the Revolutionary War. Before this war, America was not working together, but throughout the war, our country cemented as one.

Thomas Jefferson has done a lot for this country. He was a public official, historian, philosopher, and plantation owner. He was also one of the authors of the U.S Declaration of Independence; the nations first secretary of state; second vice president; and third president. He has served our country for over five decades! Whenever he wrote that quote, it taught our country one special thing. To be able to be Independent, you must also work together as one.

America is as tough as cement and can’t be broken or ruined. “The cement of this union is in the heart of every American.” Thomas Jefferson, writings,No date. That says a lot I think it means america is strong and can’t be broken no matter what happens. We have been through terrorist attacks many wars and our country is still going strong.

Thomas Jefferson sounds like he had to go through a lot more than the average person has to. Only two of his six kids made it to adult hood, also his wife died after only 10 years of marriage. On top of all that his country has fighting for there freedom. I don’t think I could of made it through all of that and people like Thomas Jefferson our the ones who made this country so strong.

American’s know how to stay together. We can get through everything that comes along our path. We have the courage, guts and faith in every one of us Americans. Basically, nothing can pull us apart no matter how much force tries to get between us.
This quote Thomas Jefferson said, most likely was said during the battle that was going on, the Revolutionary War. He was trying to assure the American’s to stick together and always help each other with anything possible. We are held together by the people. This quote doesn’t mean the same thing to everybody. To me, it means, “The God who gave us liberty at the same time; the hand of force may destroy, but cannot disjoin them.” Thomas Jefferson, 1774. (library.thinkquest.org/quotes.htm) Everyone needs people meaning friends need friends, and parents need parents. Quotes are only said to make an important point to people so there must of been a big reason this was said.

Everyone’s heart is as tough as cement! Thomas Jefferson saw that every American has greatness in them. Well this is true but if you pick apart the details in the quote it makes me wonder if he is really referring to the American’s union held by American’s and “how many people their are ready to sacrifice their lives for there country.” This quote that Thomas Jefferson wrote is very powerful to everyone, so if you read this quote “ the cement of this union is in the heart blood of every American.” Don’t take this to personal and look at it very carefully.

"The cement of this union is in the heart blood of every American.” Thomas Jefferson. This quote is about the is that the people of america are the ones that started and fought our country. Also that the people are the “cement foundation” of the country. Another thing that this quote stands for is that the foundation is in our hart and our blood and nothing can stop that.

That is one of the reasons that we won our freedom and our Country. Our hart is the part of the reasons that we won, another reason was our determination. This reminds me of Ben Franklins quote "They that can give up essential liberty to purchase a little temporary safety, deserve neither liberty nor safety." these quotes are related because they both in a way talk about our freedom and how our country began. And that is what I think about Thomas Jefferson’s quote.

The will of people is the only good foundation of government. Be proud of who you are. Free expression should be our object. Don’t do more than your capable of.

Freedom is important to your country. Be proud of your country. It’s in our lives not our words that our religion must be read. Believe in your religion and country.

American’s hearts come together and stay strong and tough like cement. That is my lesson learned from Thomas Jeffersons quote,“The cement of this union is the heart blood of every American.” This quote has had a big part in many peoples life's. There is know certain definitions fro this quote but I believe it has to deal with the War of 1812.
Thomas Jefferson said this quote in 1815, the same year the War of 1812 ended. I think he made this quote to all of those families in which lost someone. Although Thomas Jefferson had already retired from politics by the time the war began, policies that developed during his presidential term influenced the timing and the outcome of the war.

The War of 1812 was a military conflict fought between the forces of the United States and those of the British Empire. The United States declared war in 1812 for several reasons, including trade restrictions brought about by Britain's ongoing war with France, the impressment of American merchant sailors into the Royal Navy, British support of American Indian tribes against American expansion, outrage over insults to national honour after humiliations on the high seas, and possible American desire to annex Canada.

  20. Americans are what makes our country strong. “The cement of this union is in the heart-blood of every American.” Thomas Jefferson once said. This quote was used in a letter sent to Marquis de Lafayette on February 14, 1815, yamaguchy.com says. The letter explained America to Lafayette, who lived in England at the time. The quote was later used in a book called Light and Liberty. I got this information from herndon.patch.com.
Now to get down to the meaning of the quote. We, the Americans, make this country strong. We stick together as a team, as a union, through thick and thin. Though some people may not agree with the things that some people say or do, it makes us a stronger country. This country wouldn’t be the way it is today if it wasn’t for our strength and persistence throughout the years (and yes, I do mean this in a good way). We have come close to failure many times, but our foundation, our strength, has saved us. Americans are what makes our country strong.

This quote is there to say that we are important. And that with out us we could not be anywhere at all. We would be still stuck in the same place. WE would have no government and would still be ruled by Briton. We would be stuck in the same place for a long time.
Thomas Jefferson was a huge part in the revolutionary war. He was one of the people that helped form the government. He was came from Virginia. He wanted religious freedom. He was a great person.

Americans are as tough as cement. As a country, we can get through ANYTHING. Thomas Jefferson's quote, "The cement of a union, is the heart and blood of every American," Is stating that Americans have been through a lot, as a country. We never gave up.
Thomas was born in Virginia and grew up to be the 3rd president. He has said another quote, "People of every country are the only safe guardians of their own rights." This quote states that no one can tell us what to do. This is why we have freedom. Which we fought to get. Thomas was a very loyal man.

“The cement of this union is the heart blood of this American.” Said Thomas Jefferson one of our faithful leaders. I believe this quote is about our fight for freedom and won and what a long and hard journey it too to get us here. Thomas Jefferson was our 3rd president he was a vice president and secretary of state. The cement of this union, So the ground that we stand of this country. Is the heart blood of this American. I think he is referring to himself when he is saying this quote because he says of this american he is saying he will fight for what he believes in.

What comes to mind when you hear the quote “ The cement of this union is in the heart blood of every American.” Thomas Jefferson. What come to my mind is, all for one and one for all! Also what comes to my mind is that the cement is like glue we come together at one, and the blood of every American is Us the people. Jefferson saw faith in American.
Jefferson was born on April 13, 1734, and died on July 4, 1826! He was 83 when he died! This quote means that we can become as one if we try! We can do it we just have to believe in ourselves! What to comes to your mind when you hear the quote "The cement of this union is in the heart blood of every American."?

The foundation of America, though old, will always run through the veins of every American. This is what I think Thomas Jefferson was saying with his quote, "The cement of this union is in the heart blood of every American.". I think he was saying this because he knows that the foundation that Colonists would put down for our country would always be there no matter what. No matter if an American moved to Japan, the history of America would run through their blood forever.
The bonds between Americans and the land of America can not be broken, no matter what separates an American from his homeland. That is the lesson learned from this quote.

Americans stay together through thick and thin, no force can pull us apart. In the quote "The cement of this union is in the heart blood of every american." I think that's what Thomas Jefferson was trying to say. If your a true american at blood you will always stay an american at heart. Born an american, always an american. We the americans are what is keeping this union together as one.
Our union is very strong. The american alliance is always by eachother's sides. For example the american army is supporting their fellow americans and figting for us. The strength of our country keeps us all together. We have eathothers back and no one can break the true relationship between the american people. We are inseperable.

We are as strong as long as we believe in what we stand for. This is some thing that came to me when I read the quote, “The cement of the union is in the heart blood of every American”. This quote was by thomas jefferson. This quote was used to inspire the solders against England. It was in the newspapers that Thomas had written. It was every where. It probably inspired lots of the patriots that read the news. Basically this quote was very inspiring.
This was one of the hundreds of quotes that helped started the war. If you think about it it is small compared to some other quotes. But this quote packed a big punch. I personally like this quote a lot. Because it is short and to the point, it gets you motivated to believe in what you believe in. Because your spirit is one of the things that keep you going.

“The cement of this union is the heart and blood of every American.” Thomas Jefferson. This text was written to a man named Lafayette Monticello, to say we as a union have come together and made the cement of the Country! I think that this is a very strong phrase. I don’t know for sure but I think this phrase was sent to Lafayette Monticello at the start of the Revolutionary War. I think this because it sounds as if he is trying to bring all the colonies together so they will win their freedom! This may be something I would like to learn in “My Brother Sam is Dead.”.
What I don’t understand about this phrase is, why EVERY american is the cement of this union. Some people still looked up to the king during this war. Either way, the people that makes the cement of this union is the Native Americans, so he is 100% wrong in this statement. So what else I would like to learn about during this time we are studying the Revolutionary War is, who is thomas Jefferson. Did people look up to this man for his thoughts on things, or was he just a poor man who wrote letters to people all day?

We all have a piece of America in us! Another way of saying this is with Thomas Jefferson's quote  "The cement of this union is in the heart blood of every American." Know one knows exactly when Thomas Jefferson wrote this quote, but it was sometime during the Revolutionary War. “The cement of this union” (pg.1) I think means the foundation. Thomas Jefferson was a very important part of America’s history. He was the 3rd President of the United States and he wrote the Declaration of Independence.
I personally think this quote means that every American has been a part of building America to what it is know. I also think that when Thomas Jefferson wrote this he was trying to reference the making of the American government. This quote on www.famguardian.org enforces my beliefs “I do not believe there is on earth a government established on so immovable a basis." this quote was also said by Thomas Jefferson. I guess we will never know exactly what Thomas Jefferson actually meant when he said "The cement of this union is in the heart blood of every American." but it makes you wonder.

Every American is born with what America gives us! America gives us freedom, liberty, and respect. We have rights and freedom of speech. Thomas Jefferson was saying this in a quote; “The cement of this union is in the heart blood of every American” 1815. Thomas was writing a letter to his friend Lafayette. Lafayette’s full name was Marie-Joseph-Paul-Yves-Roch-Gilbert Motier Lafayette. This letter was written at Monticello during the Treaty of Paris.

What was Thomas thinking as he was writing this? What was he trying to tell Lafayette? I cannot be sure on anything. In 1815 General Andrew Jackson, led U.S. troops to a victory in early January 1815 at the Battle of New Orleans. General Jackson had 4,000 people. Maybe Thomas Jefferson was talking about war. Regular people give up what America has given to them so we can enjoy what America has given to us.

Believing in the union will make them believe in you. Knowing that Thomas Jefferson wrote this quote it is very inspiring. It showing how you may not believe in the union but you are a true american you will believe in what they are doing. Also showing them that you believe will make them have trust in you.
You can give up and die for no reason but if you are going to go out you may as well go out shooting. If fighting the redcoats is what is in the minds of the union then every true american should stand up and fight to. Last is Thomas Jefferson has a moving quote and it shall never be forgotten, saying that anyone true to a country or even a colony shall stand up and fight for it.

Fight for what is in your heart. Thomas Jefferson born April 13th in Shadell Plantation Goochland county Virgina. He was a very well educated man who graduated from the college of William and Mary in Williamsburg Virginia. Thomas Jefferson was a lawyer before he became the 3rd president of the United States. He was one of the authors of the Declaration of Independence. Thomas Jefferson believed in educating all children and adults regardless of their skin color. He was also part of the revolutionary crusade to help free the salves.

I believe that this quote was mean't to make people stand up for their country. Everyone who came to America. From England already had it in their minds for independence. This quote was used in the revolutionary war. I believe that Thomas Jefferson was trying to make the men of the revolutionary war stand up and fight for independence. Does every american truly have heart and blood with in them? There is a saying “The cement of this union is in the heart blood of every American.” - Thomas Jefferson. So what does Thomas Jefferson really mean when he said this. What he meant was when he was saying cement of this union is that the cement holds us together and we are one big union. And the cement is everybody’s love holding us together. Without the love we would not be a union.

America gives us liberty, freedom, and respect what more could we ask for? So what was Thomas Jefferson really thinking when he wrote this quote? Maybe he was thinking war was taking our love apart. Some people wanted the war and others did not. So everybody would fight. And when everybody fights where is the love in that? And when there is no love the cement holding us together is falling apart. Now there is no cement so now there is not one big strong union. So what was Thomas Jefferson really thinking, he was thinking we should not fight, so we can have love hold us together. And have one big strong union!

We are Americans and proud to be! “The cement of this union is in the heart blood of every American” - Thomas Jefferson He was born April 17th 1743, he died on July 4th 1816. Which means he lived through the Revolutionary War. These words might have been said around that time, but from my research I could not find a date.
This quote by Thomas Jefferson means a lot more than how it seems. What Thomas Jefferson is trying to say that all Americans have a piece of America in them because we all have helped to make America what it is today. Or, he’s saying how all Americans hearts are cement. We all fought through the Revolutionary War with a heart of cement (gold) for America. That is what I believe Thomas Jefferson is saying.

America is based on americans. America is the only free country in the world. They to sacrifice themselves to make america what it is today. Back in the 1800’s thomas jefferson wrote. “The cement of this union is the heart and blood of every american.”

The quote symbolizes that americans made america. Today we take the freedom for granted. Today we need to remember that we are very lucky to be free. Also that soldiers are dyeing. To conclude americans are america.

What Thomas Jefferson believed was that America would keep the union in their heart and have it stay in their heart with believe that it would be there fore ever as if it were buried by concrete. Why Thomas Jefferson loved the union so much was because every american got what the union had to give, freedom, liberty, and equality. Thomas Jefferson was the 3rd president of the United States of America. When Thomas Jefferson was a kid he was very talented at playing the violin. He was always interested in politics and government so being the president must have been a thrill.

Thomas Jefferson was born on April 13 1743 in Shadel Virginia. Thomas Jefferson was very found of the new world. He believed that the world going to be a great force some day.when the revolutionary war broke out Jefferson escaped capture 2 times! he was a very smart and interesting man who was very involved with the crating of the new world.

"The cement of this union is in the heart blood of every American" is a quote made by the famous Thomas Jefferson. This quote was in 1815 and it is said that he was writing it to a man named Lafayette what he wrote is very meaningful. Many people have shared there opinion but my opinion is I believe this was meant to say that people want to be a part of this government and they want to be able to voice their opinion. When british colonists came to america and the Revolutionary War was about to start up they had said “no taxation without representation.” they said this because they were being taxed but they didn’t even have any representatives in Great Britain. I do know this is not about taxes but this shows that people want to be part of the government and they want to feel apart of decision’s that affect their lives and their children’s futures. This can sort of relate to right now and with the election coming up I and many others are starting to decide who they are going to vote for, I also know that I cannot vote but whoever is going to be elected can effect my future and others. With all this talk about taxes, elections, I believe that he is trying to say that we all have that voice inside that we feel should be heard.

Thomas Jefferson once said, “ The cement of this union is in the heart blood of every American." He said this when the Americans were at war with the British. Also known as the Revolutionary war. The quote had a huge effect on people. He said this quote to Marquis de Lafayette.
The Revolutionary war took place in 1775 and ended in 1783. Thomas Jefferson was the US’s first state secretary. Jefferson was elected president in what he called the Revolution of 1800. He was the third president of the untied states. Thomas Jefferson inspired a lot of people with his leadership and his words.

Every American is bounded together as one. They have a strong hold on everything and no matter what life throws at them they will always stay together. That’s what Thomas Jefferson believed. He was born on April 13th 1743 and was our third president. “The cement of this union is in the heart blood of every American.”
Thomas Jefferson held our country together for several years. He believed in us that we America can do any thing that we set our minds to because we are so strong. He spoke five different languages that proves that he cared enough to understand all different types of people. He requested the United States congress passed the act prohibiting importation of slaves . That means he does care and he knows America is bounded together as one. America takes hits and is standing still because of the strength that we hold together.

All Americans should stick together with no limits. This is something that reminds me of, “The cement of this union in the heart blood of every American”. which was said by Thomas Jefferson. This was said during the time of the Revolutionary war. On February 14th 1815. The Patriots claimed that we were weak. So Thomas Jefferson said this as a comeback

But no matter what the British say to us couldn’t bring us down or tear us down. from the high pedestal we are standing on. Which was higher then the British. We’ve all helped to build America as it is right now. Maybe by a little,or maybe by a lot. we are all created equal by blood. Americans are way stronger then the British.

That you cant take away the foundation of the united states without taking us away first.

Our America is strong because the people that stand behind it, stand together. It started with Thomas Jefferson and his quote, "The cement of this union is in the heart blood of every American," which he said sometime during the Revolutionary War. He wanted the people to come together to protect what was theirs. You can keep trying to fight us but in the end we always stick together and help our fellow Americans.
Even in the most difficult times when things seem impossible to overcome we seem to preserver and come out on top. Thomas Jefferson our third president who wrote The Declaration of Independence taught us well. I believe he wanted us to protect and defend our union the same way we would protect our own families.

All of America is some way or another bonded together, into one.

    Cement And Blood

A nation together is as strong as cement. When a nation is in distress or at a sad time they can join together and become as strong as cement. That was what Thomas Jeffersons message was when he said this quote “The cement of this union is in the heart and blood of every american”. The man who said this quote was Thomas Jefferson when it was said it was colonial times. When he said this quote I am guessing it was a sad time like the boston massacre to send a positive message at a sad time.
When Thomas Jefferson was younger he spent most of his childhood roaming the woods.(millercenter.org) Jefferson believed in a “wise and frugal government, which shall restrain men from injuring one another”. Thomas Jefferson was the author of the Declaration of Independence. Also he was the third president of the United States of America. Jeffersons strong beliefs helped shape our nation.

They left there home land to start new and by doing that they had to lose things like love one’s, homes, and jobs. It was like starting over. During the revolutionary war the men that went to war against the British one of the strongest armies they new that they could die but they remembered what they were fighting for and that was there homes, families, jobs and freedom. They new the sacrifices that could happen and even then they still fought with heart.
The structure union that we have came from every American building and building to the pieces of the United States. Every person helped make what America is today. Freedom is never free. This saying goes hand in hand with a famous quote said by Ben Franklin. “ They that can give up, essential liberty to purchase a little temporary safety, Deserve neither liberty nor safety. “ Ben Franklin, 1779. To me this saying means those that are willing to go out of their way to harm others do not deserve liberty. If someone can afford to give up their own liberty for a little bit of safety then they do not deserve the rights others have.

This quote coincidentally was said the year the Declaration of Independence was made by the one who said that quote. Ben Franklin also created the Declaration of Independence. After he also had many famous quotes and was a renowned philosopher. Franklin also did many great things in his life time. It is said that he was the first to discover electricity. He did this by sending a key hooked up to a kite into a stormy sky. Then lightning struck the kite and hit the key then shocked Franklin. Ben Franklin is one of the most famous people in American history.

Sometimes you may ask your self, what do these words mean? Well, its simple the "The cement of this union”, probably means that that we had bad things going on, maybe it was about the wars going on and that was the cement (the people dying) in the union.
The other part of this magnificent quote is “heart blood of every American” probably means that the cement that we were carrying along in 'our hearts. So, in the wars maybe every time you killed someone it would add more cement in your heart, and you would never lose it.

Every American is a fraction of the whole union. In America we a re held together by our people, and each and every person is a building block to the whole big picture. In Thomas Jefferson’s quote “The cement of this union is in the heart blood of every American.” - Thomas Jefferson, 1816 he is saying that Americans being firm believers in their country, and working together is what is holding us all together. During this time, the fate of the union was in the hands of American citizens, because America was still new to being independent, and its own entity.
In 1816, Thomas Jefferson was the president of the United States. “He was succeeded as president in 1809 by his friend James Madison.” - www.monticello.org. Jefferson was a very crucial part of the creation of the United States Of America. Before he became President, he was a member of the Continental Congress. The Congress realized how talented, smart, and dedicated to America Thomas Jefferson was, so “As a member of the Continental Congress, he was chosen to draft the Declaration of Independence in 1776.” - www.monticello.org. He had a great reputation, and was known by people throughout the colonies. In conclusion, Thomas Jefferson was a very wise and important man, and was a firm believer in the citizens of his country.

Its the people who make our country, not the government. The government keeps the people in order but they don't make our country. If if was just the people who where in the U.S. we could run the country, it might be hard for us to do that but not impossible. If it was just the government that ran it then we wouldn't even be free.

We are all responsible for protecting our rights and freedoms because we all have the exact same rights and freedoms. We are all connected and need to be responsible. We all need to do our jobs to get things accomplished. If the garbage people didn't do their job then there would be quite a mess. Then if something bigger happened like the army stopped doing their job, then we wouldn't be safe and we could lose our freedom. So we need to all do our jobs and keep the U.S. strong and together.

If you work together you will get what you desire, if it’s liberty or freedom, working together and strength are the keys that open a door to new opportunities.

Our country is like cement when we live here our hearts will never move away. I am positive that Ben Franklin agrees with that statement. The history for our country is definite many people helped wether it be inspiring people to fight or not buying certine ideas. Ben Franklin talked to women to help inspire the fait for our country. I found an interesting quote “Ours is the only country founded on a good idea,”(homeschoolpatorite.com) I agree with this like many others we founded our country on religious freedom so it is natural we wanted to be free from tyranny.
People are proud and strong in this country, with our own religious beliefs and politics this is what our country is founded on. The country of U.S has changed the human liberty,(forerunner.com) I agree with this the U.S started a new way of thinking. People decided what they wanted and changed the way the government was run. “I must study politics and war that my sons may have liberty to study mathematic and philosophy(thinkquest.org) that persons dream came true look at us now we are studying math and other things they might not have dreamed of. Our country is not perfect, we are not even close, but our country is like cement and we will stand by it until the end.

The only thing holding us together is freedom. A long time ago in the seventeen Hundreds Thomas Jefferson said “The cement of this union is in the heart blood of every American”. Now the meaning of this is very simple the only thing that holds this country [or union] together is freedom [or the heart blood of every american]. Thomas Jefferson probably said when someone questioned the stability a new country would have if they made one. To this very day this quote holds true and freedom still holds America together

  81. "The sentiment of this union is in the heart blood of every american" What was Thomas jefferson trying to say? If u dont know he was the head author of the declaration, there wer manny writhers but he was the one who... lead the operation you could say. Now ask yourself what is he referring to the sentiment? well i think that hes referring to the pieces of america, the people, because after all thats what sentiment means "pieces". Then he says something about the union, well obviously hes referring to the first continental congress.
Then comes the confusing part The heart blood of very American what could he possibly mean by that? well through lots of resche i thin i found the answer. simply that in the hearts of the people. So in all and to sum it up all of the people at the time we reling on the congress to make the right dissition, and i would date this at about pre revolutionary war.

Without us, America would not be where it is today. It would, shall we say, fall apart. This is what this quote means, “The cement of this union is in the heart blood of every American.” Thomas
Jefferson made this quote at an unknown date. He is right, in my opinion, but what would America be like without people?

We are the people who keep America together. We are the cement that keeps America together. We make rights, we make laws, we make life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. We are the people who make America a nation.

    Cement and Blood
In the text cement and blood, Thomas Jefferson wrote “The cement of this union is in the heart blood of every American.” By this he means that people fighting in the army for our country have America in their heart. And that is their cement.
By that Thomas Jefferson and I mean that America is what keeps us going and what keeps the army fighting for our country. I think that if you don’t have America in your heart blood then you don’t deserve to be an American. That is what my lesson learned is on the cement and blood quote.

When I look back to the year of 1761 and recollect the argument concerning writs of assistance in the superior court, which I have hitherto considered as the commencement of the controversy between Great Britain and America, and run through the whole period from that time to this, and recollect the series of political events, the chain of causes and effects, I am surprised at the suddenness as well as greatness of this revolution. Britain has been fill’d with Folly and America with Wisdom, at least this is my Judgment. Time must determine. It is the will of Heaven that the two countries should be sundered forever. It may be the will of Heaven that America shall suffer calamities still more wasting and distressing yet more dreadful. If this is to be the case, it will have this good effect, at least: it will inspire us will many virtues, which we have not, and correct many errors, follies, and vices, which threaten to disturb, dishonor, and destroy us. The furnace of affliction produces refinement, in states as well as individuals. And the new governments we are assuming, in every part, will require a purification from our vices and an augmentation of our virtues or they will be no blessings. The people will have unbounded power. And the people are extremely addicted to corruption and venality, as well as the great. I am not without apprehensions from this quarter, but I must submit all my hopes and fears to an overruling Providence, in which, unfashionable as the faith may be, I firmly believe.

If you have a heart you have everything. Inside you have you have pure American blood inside you. When you bleed that shows that we are a union. The cement of this union is in the heart blood of every American. Thomas Jefferson No date.

We are Americans will never let each other down because we are a union a group together. We all have hearts but do you have that will to do any for your fellow Americans?Do you care about them? I know I would be able to do anything for a American. I have that will inside me and my heart and that power and patient to do something for myself or a American. If i bleed it shows the blood of a American.

Thomas Jefferson wrote “The cement of this union is in the heart blood of every American.” I think this means every American should be together and defend for each other. That all Americans should stay together as one through tough and easy, deaths and victory.

Thomas jefferson was probaly trying to say in this quo the “the cement of the union is in the blood of every american”.A union is a group of people that is trying to make something out of it like peace or being united so when he said “every american”All the americans were trying to be united. so all the other people that weren't american didn't care about being united and wanted everything to be selfish and didn't care about anyone else and just didn't want to work.”When he said the the heart and blood' the americans probaly worked hard for trying to get to be united.

When Thomas said “The cement of the union is in the heart and blood in every American”When he said it the americans who worked for being united got credit when it did happen,That would means that they put a lot of effort into getting united and really wanted this.I think that being united was a big thing and back when he was said this being united was probaly hard and took a lot of effort for trying to get to be united and have no fear.Or maybe the others who weren't American and still tried to be united just got no credit maybe because the americans probaly wanted all the credit because it was hard to work for and took a lot of effort and wasn't easy to just get

Thomas Jefferson wrote "The cement of this union is in the heart of every American." This means that Americans have a big heart. America is now a popular and united country. Americans are free. This shows that every American is worth something to this country.

Cement means stabilization. "The cement of this union is in the heart of every American". What I think Thomas Jefferson was trying to say was America is stable. Every American cherishes this nation, because of its freedom, democracy, opportunities, Government of the people, and the diversity. America is a dream to some people. Its everything that most countries don't have. I also believe that he's trying to say our nation is united in blood. I believe that this quote is still true to this day.

"The cement of this union is in the heart blood of every American." Is the quote Thomas Jefferson once said. I’m thinking that was he was trying to get across in this quote was that by the cement that that are one whole group and working cooperating good together like a group should. Not only is it in every american but is trying to say that we need to realize to work together makes us better as a group. Born with passion and hard workers is in us americans naturally as we are born. I myself Kyle Ruloff was born with the cement of this union that is in every americans heart.

Thomas Jefferson could’ve meant a lot of things when he said, “the cement of this union is in the heart blood of every American”. I think he meant that it doesn’t matter how strong the economy is, or how strong our army is. What matters is how strong the willpower of the people is. If there weren’t any strong-willed people in this nation to fight for our freedom, we wouldn’t have a nation to fight for. If we didn’t have people that were good at debating and economics, we wouldn’t have any economy at all.
Initially, when Thomas Jefferson said “cement” I immediately though of cities. Was the quote going to talk about industrialization? Then I decided not to judge so fast, so I read on. I came to “heart blood” and thought, gruesome... What was he talking about now? I looked it over again and read it all as a whole. This time it made more sense; everything clicked. The lesson learned here is that if everyone works together, we are stronger as a group.

"The cement of this union is in the heart blood of every American." Thomas Jefferson, Writings, No Date

The build and unity of this land like any other is built on the love and hard work of everyone on the land, America being one of them. Thomas Jefferson was born in the states and was brought up into a good life were he was born an American to be, so as he grew he was taught the right thing, that good things come from the heart and great things come from the blood. So when he made and signed the declaration of Independence and gave some people the sent of knowledge with his wise words he made us beleave that life is for the heart if its per life will be good and and if blood is strong life will be at its best.

Its the people who make our country, not the government. The government keeps the people in order but they don't make our country. If was just the people who where in the U.S. we could run the country, it might be hard for us to do that but not impossible. If it was just the government that ran it then we wouldn't even be free. Also Jefferson was later a president.Jefferson grew up on a farm and worked very hard. Also the year Jefferson was president the declaration of independence was finished. And he was one of the men who signed. And that's what I learned about Thomas Jefferson.

Thomas Jefferson said many quotes in his time like “The cement of this union is the heart blood of every American.” Thomas Jefferson was born April 13,1743. He was the author of the Declaration of Independence. He was also the third president of the United States. Plus he spoke five languages.
He said many other great quotes like, “Honesty is the first chapter of the book of wisdom.” “The price of freedom is eternal vigilance.” “One man with courage is a majority.” Plus my favorite quote is “Coffee - the favorite drink of the civilized world.
